اشتهرت قرية كوهج بمدارسها الدينية . ولهذه القرية الفضل في نشر العلم والدين في بلاد فارس كلها . وعاصمتها هي بستك التي حكمها آل عباس لمدة تزيد عن 400 سنة و اشتهروا بالخوانين و نسبهم يعود إلى العباس بن عبد المطلب رضي الله عنه . وقد زار هذه القرية الإمام المصلح الشيخ محمد بن عبد الوهاب رحمه الله كما تؤكد بعض المصادر
